LITTLE KNOWN BLACK HISTORY FACT


Judge Pemberton is the first Caribbean/West Indian immigrant to be elected to the bench in Guilford County. Judge Pemberton migrated to America from Jamaica on April 3rd, 1981. She lived in New York for ten years before relocating to Greensboro, North Carolina in 1991, and has been a resident of Guilford County since. Prior to becoming judge she served her community as an Assistant District Attorney for thirteen years and a registered nurse for twenty-eight years, sometimes simultaneously.
