Human Trafficking has become a major global issue and Ms. Pemberton is fully aware of the danger facing our own community. She was honored to be given the opportunity to observe and listen to this panel discussion on this matter. As an immigrant herself, Ms Pemberton understands the issues immigrants face coming to a foreign country for a better life and the hardship they endure having little or no resources. Today speakers explored general benefits of family wellness. They also defined human trafficking, reviewed trends, provided practical tips on how to spot human trafficking, and shared information to help keep your family safe. In addition, they explored a general definition of domestic violence, US laws related to DV, and differing cultural perspectives of family relationships.
